US Political parties

Except Democratic and Republican parties in the USA as well exist the others, less numerous and influential, parties. They considerably differ from each other. However they are consolidated by that they are dissatisfied with the "two-party" system which has developed in the country of the power and consider themselves as "the third force", capable to lead the USA to prosperity. As a rule, candidates for US presidents who were put forward by these parties, do not get more than 1-2 % voices. For all US history, only 10 candidates running for president from the "third force" parties could collect more than 1 million voices. Parties of the "third force" have brought in history even political funny incidents. So, in the beginning of 19 centuries in the USA the Antimasonic Party which was standing for the power, free from influence of secret societies operated. However, influence of the "third force" in the American politics always was appreciable enough. Former presidents of the country - for example even created new parties, one of the most known leaders of the USA Teodor Roosevelt who has actually made USA the world power, has created the Progressive Party. "Third force" parties generate ideas which get public support and often are undertaken by political heavyweights. There is an opinion, that 90 % of the fundamental ideas which have affected development of the American democracy (including idea of cancellation of slavery and granting a vote right to women), initially proceeded not from the parties in power, but from their less known and influential competitors. For today representatives of parties of the "third force" practically are not presented in the top echelons of power of the USA, but are extremely active and possess appreciable influence at level of municipalities, counties and states.
